Uterine Cycle

Monthly female sexual cycle characterized by repetitive shedding, regeneration, and enrichment of the endometrium, and described by four temporal phases: menstrual phase, proliferative phase, secretory phase, and ischemic phase. In fecund human females, the cycle is completed every 28 days. This term is preferred over menstrual cycle because it reduces confusion with the menstrual phase of the cycle. It is modified from the estrous cycle of female primates. Aka human female reproductive cycle.
