Von Baer’s Law

Empirical observation that the embryonic stage is derived from three germ layers (the ectoderm, endoderm, and mesoderm); further, speculation that the younger is the embryo of a species, the stronger the resemblance between the embryo of that species and the embryo of other vertebrate species. Aka law of corresponding stages.
